Cupcakes are Awesome and so is the SuN!!!

Happy Friday Everyone!!

What do you think about my blog?? Hubby Jack did an amazing job! I could not be happier with how clean yet bright it looks!

I hope that you have all had a good week, and are just as excited for the weekend as I am. 30 degrees and sunny all weekend. Can I get a hell ya!!!

<-- Board at work. I change it daily with a word of the day. A small pick me up to keep everyone smiling!

Last night we had a little cupcake party! What makes a 3 1/2 year old happier then decorating 20 some odd cupcakes? Not a heck of a lot. The result was my kitchen being a disaster, however my little girl happier than you can imagine!
Waiting for the cupcakes to cool down...

She patiently waited while the cupcakes cooled off. Staring at them like they were putting on a show! When I finally gave her the go ahead, she stated she wanted to "Cupcake them all by herself". Oh heck, why not let her "cupcake" them, AKA put the icing on them, all by herself. I must say, she did great! I was allowed the honors of putting the sprinkles on after she was finished with the icing. We of course needed candles, as it is the sweet little girl at daycares birthday. This morning Kaylee, happily toted up the cupcakes to the door, eager to share them with her friends. Trying to explain that eating cupcakes at 6:30am to her, did not go over so well. Needless to say, it was a great activity for the evening! Those little moments are priceless!
"Can I decorate them nowwww Mom?"
Finally!!!

Final Product!
Other then that, we had a pretty laid back night. After I put the little miss to bed, I cleaned up my disaster of a kitchen and realized, I was absolutely exhausted. Oh ya, I was up at 4am... I had myself a cold beer and crawled in bed just after 9pm. I know I put on a recorded episode of "MasterChef", but I do not believe I saw the first 10 minutes. Is anyone else obsessed with that show??? I love it!

Mmmm.
It is a good thing I did go to bed early as Kaylee was up 4 times... She has never been a great sleeper, however the last 6 months she for the most part sleeps right through. She had a stuffy nose last night and woke up numerous times calling for me, upset that her "nose wasn't working". 2am or not, I still find it hard not to laugh when she comes up with these comments.
When the alarm went off at 4:10am... I turned it off and rolled back over... I was soooo tired from not sleeping well with Kaylee being up so much... I know what your thinking... Sounds
an awful lot like an excuse right? Its true... It is an excuse, although one I am okay with today.
The loves of my life!
The boat!
All of that being said! Halifax is FINALLY getting some decent weather! At 6:15 this morning it was already 17 degrees! This weekend, 30 degrees and sunny!! It doesn't get better then that in my eyes! I am so excited!!!! We recently acquired a boat. By that I mean, my amazingly generous Dad decided that his boat, which has been sitting in storage, he would pass on to us, so it could be used. I spent my childhood summers in Northern Ontario on a lake... The amount of time spent in a boat, paddle boat, canoe or kayak is not measurable.  Dad said "Jaym, I hope that this boat can bring as many memories to Kaylee as you have in Red Rider". Red Rider was a small little red boat that I spent countless hours in, with my Dad. Him giving us this boat, is special... It means a lot to us. It also has my hubby over the moon excited as he is an avid fisherman and before now he had a small aluminum boat. Needless to say, this weekend, the boat, which we have yet to name, will make her maiden voyage in Nova Scotia! Very exciting!!!! We also plan on having a few friends, with their children over Saturday for a BBQ, a few cold beers I expect and bouncing on the bouncy castle!
What are your plans??? I hope everyone has FANTASTIC weekend!

Thirsty Thursday!

Alright so the blog "went live" last night! How exciting! No followers, no comments... I won't pretend I am not a little bit hurt! Ha ha! Just kidding (mostly).
I began going to the gym about 6 weeks ago. I have been consistent in going 4-5 days a week. Usually I attend the 5:30pm spin class, sometimes the bodypump class and occasionally work out on my own. All that being said, I have not seen huge results. I have lost a couple pounds, however nothing to brag about. So today I did something I have never done before...

Yes that is correct... I set my alarm last night for 4:10am to get my butt out of bed and head to the gym. My reasoning (other than I am crazy), is that I have been having trouble going in the evenings since the weather has started to change. When I finished work yesterday, I picked up Kaylee and the sun was shinning and she said "Mummy, can we play soccer outside today?" It may have sounded more like "Mummy, can we pay socca outside now!" however, I digress. I had intended to go to the gym, but how can I turn down that sweet little face. So, I didn't. We played in the backyard with the dogs, laughing and enjoying the weather. Feeling guilty, I decided to make a change and try going to the gym before work.

"Leave me alone Mummy"
Here is what I can say about it. 4:10am in my warm and comfy bed, hearing that alarm sucked.. Changing in the kitchen as quietly as I could so I did not wake the household.. That too sucked... Arriving at the gym to find 2 cars there... Awesome. Finishing a workout by 5:30.. AWESOME! Having a work out, shower, a load of laundry done and ready for work by 6am! Well damn... I felt like a super star!
I woke the little miss up to get ready for the day. Needless to say she wasn't too impressed. For a kid that never sleeps past 7am, she sure hates to be woken up at 6am. This is the look I received this morning.

It takes her about 15 minutes to come around but when she does, she is the cutest friggen thing in the world!!! I said "Kaylee, do you want to go to daycare today?" to which she responds "Ya Mommy! I can't wait!". What a great feeling to know your little one is that happy to go to daycare! I tell you, it makes my days so much easier knowing that!

All ready to go to daycare!

So, I have to tell you all... My weakness in life is bread. No matter how hard I try, I cannot give it up. I have gone without it for a week, maybe even two... And it down right makes me cranky. I have accepted this, and therefore try the whole portion control with it. That being said... Here is my guilty pleasure breakfast..

Grapes, Orange and Jalepeno and cheese bagel (only half), with a
piece of pemeal/Canadian/back bacon- however you choose
to call the delicious stuff!

I know... Terrible right? I don't eat that everyday, however today I was feeling proud of myself for all that I accomplished and treated myself! and Boy oh boy it was so darn good!

Here are today's pics... Lets hope I am at the highest weight I will be going forward! Oh and check out these shoes... Just putting them on makes me feel sassy!!!
What makes you feel sassy? Thanks for stopping by! It's Thirsty Thursday! Grab a beer or glass of wine tonight folks!

Welcome to 'Just Jaym'

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to my little piece of the internet!

A couple years ago I wrote a blog, where I generally wrote about being a Mom to a precious little girl. I wrote religiously for about a year and it fell off after that. I felt obligated to just write about being a Mom as it was titled after her (Kaylees-Korner). So here I am, 2 years later starting a new blog! I thought about it for months... Tried to come up with a name... Thought about whether I should write something where everyone knew it was really me or if that would cause me to filter what I wrote. You know, the "oh man, I can't say that, my Mom is going to read this" mentality.

At the end I decided to create a blog that was honest, real and just me. Just Jaym.

Now that we have that out of the way, let me introduce myself with some Q & A's.

Name: Jaymie Doole, AKA Jaymie Flowers. I am in the process of changing my last name to Flowers, however, I seem to be having slight trouble letting go of Doole. Much to my husbands distaste of course.
Age: 27
From: I grew up in Ontario, Canada until I was 18. I then moved to Quebec for a year before deciding on attending university in Nova Scotia. I finished Univsersity and have remained here. It has been about  9 years and we absolutely love it.
Occupation: I am in Sales.
Married or Single: 2 years ago I married my highschool sweetheart! Jordon is tolerant of my constant desire to try crazy things, random trips I decide to go on and my slight OCD with regards to cleaning my house. He supports all of my crazy ventures and I love him with my whole being.
Children: Jordon and I have an beautiful little girl named Kaylee who came into this world just over 3 years ago. She is the perfect blend of Jordon and I with her incredible independence and wonderfully soft heart.
What is this blog going to be about:While I believe a part of this is yet to be determined, I know the direction I would like this blog to go. I have a tremendous love for food in all ways- cooking, eating, preparing, grocery shopping. I will post recipes of new things I try and also those favorites that we love. Going hand in hand with my love for food, comes my battle with weight. I want to loose about 40 ish pounds. Every year that passes I seem to put on a couple more pounds and I am finally at the point where I just feel tired of being the chunky/chubby/big Jaym. I want to be the fit Jaymie. Also, I will inevitably write about my family. My little family I have here in Nova Scotia, and my family I miss on a daily basis in Ontario.

All in all, I think this is a good indication of what 'Just Jaym' will be about. I certainly hope you stick around to see whats to come! I would love any comments, questions or feedback  anyone out there may have! Check out a couple pics of me and the fam! Thanks for stopping by!
